Work by Andrew Ellis Johnson and Susanne Slavick
November 7, 2017 11:00 am –January 31, 2018 6:00 pm
Location: The Fed Galleries @ KCAD
Opening Reception: November 7, 5-7pm
Artist Talk: November 7, 6:30pm
Our world is constantly moving and our divisions continue to multiply. There are lines between those in control and those who are controlled, barriers between the visible and the invisible, chasms between the displaced and the settled.
Johnson and Slavick explore the social and political issues and injustices that continue to shape the way we treat asylum seekers. Though artwork alone won’t resolve our ongoing refugee crisis, it can spark a discourse about political and moral orders and act as an agency to awaken minds and combat idleness.
